(NYO) - Professor, Doctor of Science Dai Duy Ban – former Director of Vietnam Applied Biochemistry Research Institute and President of Vietnam Biochemistry Association. He is currently the principal of Van Xuan Technology University, Director of Human Resources, Economic, And Cultural Development Research Institute, a member of International Science Council of Asian & Pacific Federation of Clinical Biochemistry, a member of Vietnam Biotechnology Council. He is one of the leading molecular biologist who the most number of molecular biological researches in Vietnam, 350 researches of which were published on Vietnamese and international academic journals.
While working as a postgraduate student in Poland, he researched and found alkaline phosphate enzyme on mucous membrane of the intestine of laboratory animals. After three years, his project was completed and highly rated by the Science Council, which consists of reputable foreign professors, who permitted him to write his doctoral dissertation. That was a rare and almost unprecedented case with regard to foreign postgraduate students then because, according to the host country’s regulations, it usually took 10 – 15 years for a Doktor (doctor) to become a Doktor habill (doctor of science).
When returning to Poland in August 1976, he and Professor Kaviact started their research into experimental cancer treatment - malignant lymphocytes on rats. From then on, he started to research deeply into cancer cell membranes. After four years of hard work in the laboratories, he had published plenty of articles about results of his researches into cancer cell membranes in English on academic journals of Germany, Japan, and Poland.
During that same time, he also found Calmodulin molecules that contain calcium ions remaining on the membrane of cancer cell L-1210. When his discovery was published, he immediately received a lot of job offers with "incredible” incomes from Research Institutes from various countries. Besides, many scientists all around the world sent him congratulation letters and suggested him share some information about the research. Professor, Deputy Director of Nenxiki Institute – Poland suggested him leave his dissertation, which consists of more than 200 pages written in English, in the archive of the Institute.
The greatest achievement throughout his career was the creation of Cadef preparation that helps improve the body functions, strengthen the immune system, and prevent the effects of harmful factors on cancer patients. That was the accomplishment of nearly 20 years of experimenting on thousands of mice. He said: “If we just follow the road of other countries, we will always be the follower. The use of chemicals and radiation is very harmful to the body and can have side effects such as loss of hair, kidney failure, etc. and especially it is very costly. Each course of chemotherapy costs at least VND 20 million. By using herbal ingredients, we will be able to make use of our ancestors’ experience”.
Besides, he and reputable Vietnamese scientists have discovered a kind of caterpillar fungus named Isaria cerambycidae N.S.P. Some biological active ingredients of the fungus were determined, and BVM-VN has been successfully bred in Vietnam.
He has created more than 17 preparations aiding human health, released more than 105 medical books and 305 researches that are translated into many foreign languages.
Experiencing Boditech diagnostic assay systems
As a President of Science Council of Nam Duong Corporation, on April 13, 2013, Professor Dai Duy Ban had a direct discussion with Boditech staff at Nam Duong’s office.
The professor had his blood taken and tested by Boditech staff using I-CHROMA diagnostic assay systems, which is produced by Boditech Korea. Within one hour, 22 criteria were tested and the result was quickly given. During the process, the professor had a change to learn the mechanism as well as the functions of Boditech’s diagnostic assay systems.
He said “I - CHROMA is an immunofluorescence assay system that quickly produces quantitative results within 3 – 5 minutes. The devices are small and easy to be moved during the work process or in emergencies. The operation is simple and quick, accurate results are given in shortest time. Especially, the test results are not affected by the room temperature. Moreover, the amount of blood taken to test is negligible and does not affect the test subject’s health”.
According to Professor Dai Duy Ban, the advantages such as portability, simple operation, high speed, and accuracy, I-CHROMA diagnostic assay systems are very suitable for Vietnam’s socio-economic conditions, the mission of Vietnam’s health sector, which is “Bringing medical services to the people”
