In order to share difficulties with the people in disadvantaged areas, Nam Duong Corporation in cooperation with Tin Tuc newspaper - Vietnam News Agency launched “Supporting disadvantaged areas” program to give 200 presents, which are boxes of XO milk, to students in Lang Can commune and Khuon Ha commune, Lam Binh district, Tuyen Quang province.
From Hanoi, the delegation had crossed more than 300 km through the difficult mountain passes such as Ga, Ai Au, Keo Nang, and Khau Lac. The road was wet and slippery because of rain. Sometimes the car could not move and everyone had to push it from behind. The delegation arrived at Khuon Ha commune in the morning of August 19. Upon our arrival, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Deputy President of the People’s Committee of Lam Binh District cheerfully said: “Coming to Khuon Ha and Lang Can means coming to the greatest difficulties of Tuyen Quang: greatest distance, roughest roads, and greatest hardship. Thus we are very happy when the kids are supported and given presents in the “Supporting disadvantaged areas” program launched by Tin Tuc newspaper and Nam Duong Corporation in cooperation. This really is a great encouragement to the people living here...”.
In order to share difficulties with the people in disadvantaged areas, Tin Tuc newspaper - Vietnam News Agency cooperated with Nam Duong Corporation in launching “Supporting disadvantaged areas” program to give 200 presents, which are boxes of XO milk, to students in Lang Can commune and Khuon Ha commune, Lam Binh district, Tuyen Quang province.
Because of the influence of the storm, it was still heavily raining in Lang Can and Khuon Ha. However, Khuon Ha Elementary School and the meeting hall of the People’s Committee of Lang Can commune were still crowded with parents, teachers, and students of these two communes. The colorful clothing of Dao, Tay, H’Mong, etc. people seemed to brighten the rainy day in the highlands.
When looking innocent eyes alight with excitement and happiness of the students, our hearts were warmed because we had brought them a little fun to their disadvantageous life. Mrs. Ban Thi Nai, a Dao woman in Chai Phe B village, Lang Can commune said emotionally: “Today I’m very happy because my kid was given presents. I want to thank Tin Tuc newspaper and Nam Duong Corporation for giving him this big box of milk. The kids must be very happy when receiving presents at the beginning of the school year”. She also told us her house is 6 km from the People’s Committee but she and her son still got up early to get there.
Lam Binh is a new district which was established in 2011, and one of the districts that benefit from Program 30a of the government. Life of people there are still tough, 61% of the households are poor. Just like other communes of Lam Binh district, people in Lang Can commune and Khuon Ha commune earn their living from agriculture and forestry.
Mr. Chau Van Doi, Deputy President of the People’s Committee of Lang Can commune said: “There are 1,171 households in the commune with 5,270 people from four ethnic groups, most of them are Tay and Dao people. Though life is tough, the authority and people here always adhere to the policies of Communist Party and the state. Their learning always receives consideration from the authority”. Mr. Chau Xuan Truong, Principal of Khuon Ha Elementary School told us: “There are totally 288 elementary students in the commune. Their learning is always ensured though they have to study at three different locations. The commune authority and teaches have made necessary preparations for the new school year".
Another school year is coming. We hope that more philanthropists and companies will cooperate with “Supporting disadvantaged areas” program of Tin Tuc newspaper to share difficulties with students in disadvantaged areas such as Lang Can and Khuon Ha Communes in order to bring them more joy when going to school.
