On May 16, 2014, Tin Tuc newspaper - Vietnam News Agency and Nam Duong Corporation held “Supporting disadvantaged areas” program to give 1,000 boxes of XO milk with a total value of over VND 300 million to disadvantaged kindergarten students in Lai Chau province.

The presents were given at 3 locations: Kindergarten of Nam Loong commune (Lai Chau city), Social Protection Center of Lai Chau province, and Kindergarten of Son Binh commune (Tam Duong district).

In the early morning at Nam Loong Kindergarten, the students and their parents had arrived in their newest and most colorful traditional costumes to receive presents. All the kids were happy and excited with boxes of milk in their hands.
Ms. Ha Thi Anh Thoa, principal of Nam Loong Kindergarten said emotionally: "The meaningful presents brought by "Supporting disadvantaged areas" program are really a big joy and a timely encouragement to the kids”.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Tang, Director of Internal Affair Service of Lai Chau, who participated in this program of Tin Tuc newspaper, expressed himself: “The "Supporting disadvantaged areas" program of Tin Tuc newspaper in Lai Chau province this time has a very practical meaning because not only the kids but also a lot of households in Lai Chau province are still facing extreme difficulties. They need support from organizations, associations, philanthropists, etc. Without such practical “support”, many kids might have never known the delicious taste of milk. I hope Lai Chau province will keep receiving support from Tin Tuc newspaper in particular and other entities in general”.

On this occasion, Internal Affairs Department of Lai Chau province also gave 20 presents to excellent students of Social Protection Center with a total value of VND 4 million; the Department of Health also sent physicians and health officials to give health check-ups and free medicines to more than 50 disabled children and orphans at Social Protection Center.

Lai Chau is a disadvantaged province, 90% population of which is ethnic minorities who have to face geographical isolation. People are still poor, obsolete, and lacking awareness. Students still have to overcome plenty of difficulties to go to school. That was reason why Tin Tuc newspaper selected Lai Chau province as the destination for this "Supporting disadvantaged areas" program.
